About Dr. Carter
Dr. Carter spent twelve years in hospital neurosurgery before joining Alderwick to build something rarer: a community clinic where headaches, sciatica and numbness get specialist assessment without a six-month wait.
His philosophy is conservative — nine out of ten patients he sees improve without surgery. When an operation is truly needed, he refers to partner hospitals and follows you through recovery himself.

When should I worry about a headache?
Sudden “worst ever” pain, new weakness, vision changes or fever with headache all warrant same-day assessment — call us.
Will I be pushed toward surgery?
No. Surgery is the last resort here, recommended only when conservative care has failed or nerves are at risk.
Should I bring my MRI scans?
Yes — bring discs or portal access plus all reports. Dr. Carter re-reads imaging himself at every first visit.
